Terms of Service
Effective October 16, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Decimal Grove LLC, the company that operates Ekavo ("we", "us"). They cover the Ekavo app and the ekavo.app website. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Ekavo.
What Ekavo is
Ekavo is a pronunciation coaching app: it scores your speech, shows you what to change, and gives you material to practice with. It is a learning tool, not a medical service — it isn't speech therapy and isn't a substitute for a speech-language pathologist.
Scores and feedback are produced by automated speech assessment and AI. They're good, but they're estimates: an individual score can be off, and we don't guarantee any particular result from practicing.
Your account
You need to be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age to consent to online services where you live). Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself — you're responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app; how we handle the data is covered in our Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions
Some features — including scoring your speech and listening to coach audio — require a Pro subscription. Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store or Google Play, and their terms govern billing:
- A free trial, where offered, converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- If prices change, we'll tell you in advance, and the change applies from your next renewal.
Fair use
To keep the service fast and affordable for everyone, some features have daily limits — such as the amount of audio scored or the number of AI explanations per day. The app shows you where you stand. Don't try to work around these limits, use the service with automated tools, or resell access to it.
Content and ownership
Everything we provide — coach recordings, articulation diagrams, practice sentences, scenarios, the app itself — belongs to us or our licensors. You may use it for your own learning, not to copy, scrape, or build a competing dataset or service.
Your recordings are yours. You give us permission to process them for the one purpose of providing the service — scoring your speech and generating your feedback — as described in the Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse Ekavo: no breaking or probing the security of the service, no reverse engineering, no interfering with other people's use, and no using it for anything unlawful.
Ending things
You can stop using Ekavo and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, and we may change or discontinue features (or the service) — if we discontinue the service entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice.
Disclaimers and limits on liability
Ekavo is provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of every kind, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about these terms or the service will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Missouri. If you live somewhere that gives you consumer protections these terms can't override, you keep those protections.
Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we'll update the date above and notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Ekavo after that means you accept the new terms.
